Golden Valley Development, Inc. (OTC: GVDI) is pleased to announce the appointment of John
Dr. John Powers
Powers, Ph. D., to its recently-formed Advisory Board. Dr. Powers has been involved in the development of the Percuguard TM needlestick prevention device and will be instrumental in ensuring the device’s successful near-term introduction into broad dental and medical use in applications where superior protection from exposure to blood borne pathogens is a critical need.
Dr. Powers, an internationally respected dental materials scientist, holds multiple professorships at renowned dental schools in Texas, Michigan, and Germany. He publishes a widely-read dental materials newsletter, The Dental Advisor, and has authored or co-authored over 1,000 scientific articles, textbooks, and other dental industry publications. Kevin Sorrels, D.D.S., CEO of GVDI, stated, “We are excited and honored to add John to our Advisory Board, as he has played an instrumental role in the original research and product development that resulted in successful field trials, patent approval and FDA clearance of the first generation Percuguard finger sleeve.”

GVDI expects to complete final production engineering of the Percuguard needlestick protection sleeve in early 2012, followed by its global introduction into dental, medical and ambulatory applications. Market research indicates that there are an estimated 20 billion applicable procedures per year for the single-use disposable device.

There has been a great deal of interest recently in several of GVDI’s product lines, including
- Meetings with investors planning for the launch of the PercuGuard product line
- Bringing on board additional PR resources for Digital Sports Media, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of GVDI
- A marketing campaign for a new sports-comedy television project to which Digital Sports Media has acquired the rights to market.
- We are exploring the possibility of expanding our original agri-business plan, and, to that end, are conducting a broad search for personnel who may help us in that regard. Our continuing with this plan will depend in large measure on our success in finding the perfect candidates to operate such a venture.”
