This has potential benefits to risk managers, dentists, physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel to prevent OSHA fines and reduce civil liability. It has been determined and published that the incidents of needle sticks cannot be reduced further without protection over the potential needle stick exposure site.
Another patented safety device GVDI owns for commercial and home kitchen use (CutStop) can eliminate one of the largest causes of emergency room visits and on-the-job injuries. Using the same innovative technology developed for saving lives in health care, CutStop will come to the aid of chefs and food preparers around the country. This has similar implications in the culinary industry where the second leading cause of injury, behind slips and falls, is injuries to the hand, including the fingers and thumbs. CutStop can provide some protection from the potential injury to the fingers and thumbs resulting from accidental cuts with knives and sharp instruments in food preparation.
